What gives you inspiration?
Living in a city, the diversity of the urban world attracts me. Street photography imposes itself as an evidence. My encounters become my images. I never know where I will take a shot or who I will take a photo of. My shots include a part of random as well as an instinctive selection of persons. Awkward, strange or moving, the personality of these men and women, through my vision, highlights the emotion transmitted by the shot.
What are your influences?
A lot of photographers inspire me. For example Depardon is my favorite photographer, I like his work and I like him as a person. I like Anders Petersen too for the contrast in his photos.
Why did you choose these photos?
I choose this photos because its represent my work on the street. Most of my photos are taken in the city of Montpellier, located in the South of France. I use several cameras (Leica, Yashica, Rollei, Lomo, Holga) but I decided to work with Rolleiflex for the portraits. Its square format, depth of field and quality are perfectly suited for portraits.
What does photography mean to you?
It’s a way to keep all my meetings in my memory.
