What gives you inspiration?
Everyday things – I see patterns and beauty in the most mundane things sometimes. I think beauty is everywhere – you just have to open your mind’s eye and look deeper.
What are your influences?
I think my technical and “geek” background influences my work a lot. I tend to see lines, patterns and objects in almost 2D sometimes. I’ve only been shooting semi-seriously for about 5 years now. Some of my early influences when I was starting out were photographers like Daniel Cuthbert, Justin Ouellette, Andy Bell, Jessyel Ty Gonzalez, Valerie Cohran, and Heather Champ. They continue to inspire me today.
Why did you choose these photos?
These photos represent the different styles of work I like to do: abstract, street art, city scapes and structures. The first one below has special meaning for me for a lot of personal reasons and in my mind, is my best work – not only because I have tremendous respect and admiration for Banksy’s work.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography allows me to capture a moment in time that is all mine. I like to look deeper into everything and photography helps me achieve that.
