Interview Igor Termenón

Photography is a kind of a random diary.

Name: Igor Termenón
Hometown: Ponferrada, Spain
Style of photography: I could define it as changing, it depends on my current obsessions.
Type of cameras: Digital Canon 40d for fashion and for my personal work I’m using a Yashica MF-1 at the moment.
Website: Flickr

What gives you inspiration?

Nature, sunlight, industrial wastelands … all sort of things. For my fashion shoots I usually find inspiration in music, for example the photo of the girl with the blanket on her back is part of a photo set inspired by Bat for Lashes. And for my more personal work it all comes random, so there isn’t really any inspiration, I just see something I like and then snap it.

What are your influences?

I love the work of a lot of different photographers and I admire people who can take amazing photos with film cameras cause I’m really bad at it. I like Ryan Mcginley a lot and also Jack Siegel (www.theskullset.com ) although I’m not sure if I’m influenced by them, they are always a reference as many other artists.

Why did you choose these photos?

The photo I mentioned before has become one my most popular fashion picture so I wanted it to be included to reflect that part of my work. The other ones belong to my personal work and each one has a story behind them, all remind me of happy moments during this year, there’s no really a connection between them, well… maybe happiness is that connection.

What does photography mean to you?

It’s kind of a random diary, I see myself looking at one of my photos in 10 years and I know for sure that I will remember exactly what was on my mind when I took it.
