Interview Martijn Schreurs
Photography is all about space and surroundings.

Type of camera(s): Medium-format Mamiya, Lomo LC-A

What gives you inspiration?
The pure aesthetical beauty of buildings and walls confining us. The tension that can be found in urban space between spatial environment and man-made structures. Exploring and visiting new places for the first time.
What are your influences?
My biggest influence is definitely Friederike von Rauch, but I also admire Bert Danckaert, Oliver Heissner and Marc Wendelski. And all the amazing talent that can be found on Flickr.
Why did you choose these photos?
I think these images best represent my latest work. They’re different from my earlier stuff: more clinical and completely timeless.
What does photography mean to you?
It’s all about space and surroundings, exploring and capturing found places that most people would ignore and walk by.
