What gives you inspiration?
Inspiration is such a vague concept, from what I understand it refers to what triggers creation on my part. First and foremost that would be the particular scene I encounter and in which I see a worthy photograph. But understood in a broader sense, i.e. who or what makes me feel inspired, well that feeling can come from any direction: the works of tons of photographers a hundred times more talented than myself, a classic piece of cinema, a great novel et cetera: life’s little extra’s.
What are your influences?
I guess I’m influenced by the material I use, a certain camera demands a certain way of looking, by outside conditions such as the weather and the light that is a result of it and of course by the aesthetics of our times, I’d be the last to deny that my photography is in any way unique…
Why did you choose these photos?
I like them.
What does photography mean to you?
A means of creation, a distraction, an understanding of reality and a demand for optimism because it unlocks beauty in the ordinary…
