Interview Simon Hoegsberg
Photography is a way to understand the reality I experience.

What gives you inspiration?
Inspiration is everything that expands my perspective on life and brings me to the point where I once again clearly see how many opportunities the future holds for me and for everyone.
What are your influences?
I’m much influenced by the thoughts of Andrew Cohen and his system of thought called spiritual enlightenment. I have a pretty big ego – like everyone I know – and I want to get rid of it, Cohen’s teaching shows how that can be done.
Why did you choose these photos?
I chose these four photos because they give an impression, I believe, of what great stories can be found in the sea of people surrounding us in our daily lives.
What does photography mean to you?
To me photography is a way to react to and understand the reality I experience. Working as a photographer is a good reason to explore the world, interact with people and get away from the computer. As long as I can use photography as a way to develop and inspire others, photography will mean something to me. But never everything. It’s just a medium.
