What gives you inspiration?
I get my inspiration from poetry -some of my series are inspired in Paul Celan poetry-, philosophy -I’m about to finish my B.A. studies in Philosophy- and classic literature -Odyssey, Classic Mythology. I also get inspiration of my personal life: my lover, our relationship, our happiness, our projects together…
What are your influences?
I love to look at illustrations, paintings, drawings,… My work as a curator of an emerging illustration & photography magazine (Carpaccio Magazine) makes me look at a lot of other people’s work. If you opened my mind, you would find a mess, a really huge mess full of colors, illustrations, drawings, photos,… a lot of things that, at the end, have nothing to do with my own work! Yet these things influence me in a way that I couldn’t tell you…
Why did you choose these photos?
I tried to choose photos which represent all my type of photography: self-portrait -myself representing the mythological Ariadne-, portrait of my lover -and almost all of my portraits are portraits of my lover-, symbolism -rainbow in the arm of my lover- and landscape -my loved sea.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography is a way of life. Photography is the way I can understand my own world. Is how I see this world. Photography is what I can “say” -without words- of this world, of my own way of living,… Photography is a way to “open” the world, a way to make the world more understandable, a way to discover the world….
