What gives you inspiration?

‘I don’t know’ would probably be the most honest answer. I have never really understand what inspiration actually means, just that it can mean a whole lot of things. One thing I do enjoy, is seeing the finished photo if it turns out as I expected. I think it’s the satisfaction of having control over something and it does make you want to experience that feeling again.

What are your influences?

I write film criticism, so watching a lot of films has had an influence I think, if not directly then at least in the sense of general visual thinking as I’ve never taken any art classes or anything like that.

Why did you choose these photos?

All these shots have been taken in the past year. I have started to take photography more seriously. The photos are shot in medium format. There is no unifying theme to them and none of them are a part of some bigger project, as I am just in the progress of trying to work out where I want to go with my photos. If such a place exists.

What does photography mean to you?

It gives me the perfect reason to pull myself together and step out of my apartment.
