Interview Ylenia Arca
Photography allows me to spend some time to observe things.

Name: Ylenia Arca
Hometown: Venice, Italy
Style of photography: Landscape, architecture
Type of camera(s): Nikon D90, Fujica ST 705w, Holga 135
Website: Flickr
What gives you inspiration?
Open spaces, often forgotten and rejected, are my main source of inspiration. I am charmed by lines, shapes and geometries that originate from the encounter between nature and architecture.
What are your influences?
My influences come every day from photos taken by people who share my idea of photography and my taste; I am particularly interested in the work of a peculiar generation of Italian photographers, the one that is represented by Ghirri, Barbieri, Basilico and Guidi.
Why did you choose these photos?
I chose these pictures because they are part a little work I carried out on Tenerife. My intent was to depict a different side of the island, not touristic and not conventional.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography allows me to spend some time to observe things and learn to see them in a different way.
