What gives you inspiration?
I’m really inspired by how deeply a photograph can suck you in, be it personal or an outside experience – I’m inspired by how many layers there can be behind an image.
What are your influences?
I’m influenced by a number of photographers, lately it’s been Emiliano Granado, Jane Tam, Stefan Ruiz and a few others. But you can’t skip over the masters of course, those for me would be Eggleston, Friedlander, Shore, Soth, etc.
Why did you choose these photos?
These really hit home for me currently when I think about the idea of an image having those multiple layers behind them.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography means I can let my voice be heard, or seen for that matter. I was never good at writing, this just further allows me to bring ideas and thoughts to a visual medium.
