Name: Ludwig Danner
Hometown: Munich / Germany
Style of photography: Untitled style
Type of camera(s): Carena cx 300 / Pentax 6×7 / Mamiya 645 pro / Fuji instax 100
Website: I am still working on my web presence but there is a small selection of my works on Flickr.

What gives you inspiration?

Most of my strongest inspirations are caused by anger. As an idealist I am constantly unsatisfied and angry about themes like unjustice, lies and suffering. In Munich / Bavaria where I come from this sort of anger is part of a characteristic way of living. We call that “grantler”. Its already enough for me to watch some bad tv news or senseless nihilistic fashion & glam magazines for example to get some inspiration . I am trained in transforming negative energies into productive creativity. beside that negative sources i mainly get inspired by architecture and music.

What are your influences?

I don’t even try answering because its hard enough to make myself believe that I am hardly influenced by anyone or anything.

Why did you choose these photos?

These were made 3 years ago during a very productive time. I think they say a lot about my relationship to photography.

What does photography mean to you?

For me photography is the simplest way to say who I am and what I want. Somehow it is also constructing and deconstructing reality at the same time. Unfortunately we live in a world where pictures manipulate our nature of how we feel and act like never before. Making photos is a strong form of cultivating your own ideas and identity. An act of liberation and emancipation.
