Interview Maximilian Haidacher
I think working as an artist is about change, transition and progress.

Name: Maximilian Haidacher
Hometown: Vienna, Austria.
Style of photography: I don’t like being pinned down to one certain style. I think working as an artist is about change, transition and progress. It’s becoming rather than being, and that is what I love about it.
Type of camera(s): Both film and digital, depends on the project.

What gives you inspiration?
I draw inspiration from many things: Newspapers, books, magazines, movies, blogs, travelling, nature and good conversations.
What are your influences?
A couple of years ago, I was influenced a lot by classical art photography schools like the one of Bernd and Hilla Becher at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the late 1980s and 1990s. Meanwhile, my view has expanded. Paintings, installations and transdisciplinary works from many different artists from all around the world now catch my attention.
What does photography mean to you?
For the moment, it quite simply seems to be the most suitable medium to express my thoughts, ideas and points of view. But it doesn’t have to stay like this forever.
